🍦 Money, Time and Energy

Only one is infinite

Hey friend β€”

It's easy to feel like you're being stretched in many different directions. You end up juggling various tasks that need your attention while trying to prioritise and clear that to-do list.

When deciding what to focus on, how to delegate tasks, or what I would rather be doing, I always bring it back to Money, Time and Energy.

Of these three things, two are finite.

Time and Energy.

You cannot get your time back; this is arguably your most valuable resource. Managing your time to include the tasks and responsibilities you can make the most of within that time window will lead to more efficiency, fewer bottlenecks and more feelings of accomplishment.

You're not ticking off tasks that someone else could be doing that stop you from handling the more pressing task that needs your attention.

Energy is replenished but always has a maximum amount you can have. This maximum decreases over time, potentially with your level of inspiration or motivation at various stages of your life.

There's only so much you can do.

There's only so much you can deal with physically and emotionally.

(my spirit animal)

Keeping check on your energy levels and where you are day to day, week to week, is vital to ensure you can avoid burnout.

Money - this is the 'infinite' resource.

Not that you have infinite money right now, but money comes and goes; money is obtainable, and you can get more money that you can then invest in resources, in your team, in your systems to help support your time and energy.

Being able to use your time and energy wisely to help the business make more money, in the long run, will lead you to have the money to work less yourself and work on more strategic parts of the business - maybe you enjoy this type of work more so you feel more energised, and it's less draining.

Perhaps the impact you can have by doing this work is only 15 hours a week instead of 30+.

Check-in with how much time you're spending and how much energy you're using - are you happy with where those are right now?

Could you be spending less time on tasks that other people could be doing?

Could you be spending more time on the tasks that align with you and energise you?

Could investing in a marketer, a coach, an accountant, or a personal assistant help take tasks off your plate, giving you back that time and energy to work on the higher strategic part of your business?

If you had a magic wand and could fix one issue with your business right now, what would that be? Feel free to reply to this email and let me know!
